Optus has announced the availability of iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G on its network from today. The popular Apple tablet can be snapped up on a variety of Optus consumer and business contracts. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models are all available in a choice of black or white.
Prices range from $19 per month on a 24-month contract (plus $20 monthly tablet repayments) to $79 per month ($0 monthly repayments). This compares favourably with Telstra's iPad 2 24-month plans, which range from $49 to $99. That said, other considerations such as data allowance also need to be factored in.
“By offering the iPad 2 on the Optus Open Network, we are giving Australians more reason than ever before to choose Optus this Christmas," boasted Optus' Consumer Marketing Director, Gavin Williams. "Our great range of value plans, along with greater rewards such as our partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer, give customers the freedom to enjoy all the gamechanging features the revolutionary iPad 2 has to offer."
The Apple iPad 2 has a dual-core A5 processor, twin cameras and a HDMI port. It runs on Apple iOS 4.3. iPad 2 is also 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter than its predecessor.
