We are legion: inside DreamHack's 12,000-strong LAN party

Last week, more than 12,000 LANers converged on Jonkoping, Sweden for the DreamHack Winter 2011 festival. That's a lot of bandwidth.

Yes, all those little lights are individual PC monitors connected to the world's biggest LAN party:  DreamHack Winter 2011.

The festival saw over 13,000 gamers lug their PCs to the Elmia Fair in Jonkoping, Sweden. The event, which is now in its 15th year, comprises all things digital, with the professional LAN tournaments a regular highlight. Indeed, the event holds the Guinness world record for the world's largest LAN, with well over 13,000 devices connected to its network in 2010.
