Panasonic smartphones heading to the West?

Panasonic's smartphone division is tipped to be aiming its sights beyond Japan.

Panasonic is reportedly searching for a UK PR agency to help launch a line of smartphones in the UK and other EU contries. According to PR Week, the Japanese electronic giant plans to produce Android-powered smartphones, one of which is the P-07C (pictured above), a 4.3in device with mobile TV capabilities.

This will be the first time that Panasonic has launched a handset outside of its home turf since 2005, and we can't wait to see what new contenders it brings to the ruthlessly competitive smartphone arena. We'll bring you more information as we get it, including the possibility of an Australian release.

 One more arm of diversity ... Panny will now also be an "evil" comapny - at least according to the likes of johnny adams and his sycophantic fan boys.

Good for the consumer though. I'd expect theirs to be well made like Sammy anHTC and LG products usually are.

 Why would you think Panasonic would be called an evil company, unless you already know (with that crystal ball of yours) they are deliberately ripping off someone's IP and stand to be caught?

The only evil thus far in the Android market could be Samsung (shameless copying (?) and ridiculous FRAND patent scam) and Google (stealing code and assisting frivolous suits).

Other's may be sued for breach of various patents or signing royalty agreements with the likes of M$ however couldn't class that as evil.

Yes, great for the consumer, more choice.

 What does "mobile TV capabilities" mean? The usual IPTV dribble or will these phones have a genuine DBV-T tuner built in with a super antenna that actually lets us watch it without artefacts? If so my ears did just prick up.
