With Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), Google is hoping to unify the mobile and tablet versions of Android into a single recognisably consistent OS and – according to fudzilla – the Motorola Xoom may be the first tablet to receive the long-awaited update.
The news doesn’t come as too much of a surprise given that the big G is currently sealing a deal which will see them buying out Motorola for a cool US$12.5 billion, but it’s still a nice way to reward Xoom early adopters with a little something sweet.
Whether the update will be released with a rumoured Xoom 2 tablet is another matter entirely, but we’ll find out for sure this Wednesday when Motorola reveals all at their launch event.
