Pricing for AMD's Bulldozer leaked online

Pricing for AMD's Bulldozer leaked online

AMD's long-awaited Bulldozer CPU has seemed forever 'just around the corner', but new pricing details suggest it may not be too far from release.

Great news for folks waiting for AMD's Sandy Bridge alternative, the Bulldozer-based, high-end Zambezi desktop CPUS. Specialist site CPU World has gotten hold of pricing details of three of the upcoming chips soon to wing their way to an AMD system near you. Here's the deets:

  • FX-8150: 8 cores, 3.6GHz @ stock (4.2GHz @ Turbo) -- $US266.28
  • FX-8120: 8 cores, 3.1GHz @ stock (4GHz @ Turbo) -- $US221.73
  • FX-6100: 6 cores, 3.3GHz @ stock (3.9GHz @ Turbo) -- $US188.32

How this will equate to Australian pricing, or even if these details are correct, is still up in the air. We contacted our local AMD rep, and he's not even been given word of pricing internally in any official capacity yet, so keep that in mind.

Zambezi chips are expected to ship before the end of the year.
