We more or less dig on Game of Thrones. When the books first came out, they were a fantasy revelation, a direct critique and conversation with the classic tropes of the genre. Then there's the TV series, which is one of our favouritest things ever (and not just because of Sean Bean, or the boobs).
That's the more bit.
The less bit is because as book after book (or half-book, in some cases) has come out the story seems to be slowing down. And man, is GRRRRRR Marrrrrrtin taking his time, or what?!
That said, the world he has created is still pretty amazing, and there's room for lots of stories in it. Board games and pen and paper RPGs have mined this rich creation with success, and now Cyanide is bringing Game of Thrones: Genesis to PCs on October 27. Woohoo!
The game is all about the fight for the Iron Throne of Westeros, and as the head of one of the Great Houses how you get there is up to you - diplomacy, intrigue, war... it's all open.
Check out these five new screens, preferably over a detailed meal of venison stew, while slumming it in the brothels of King's Landing.
