Every week we see deals on external hard drives - they're especially common on sites like CatchoftheDay.
Prices are better than ever - the latest sale to catch our eye is this 2TB HP Simple Save 2TB External Hard Drive for $107 from Big W, with free delivery if you buy it online. The deal is advertised as ending on September 6.
This isn't the cheapest 2TB drive you'll find. Over at Officeworks there's this Western Digital Elements drive for $98, but it's USB 2.0. There's also a Seagate Freeagent Goflex 2TB drive over at JB Hi-Fi, but again, it's USB 2.0.
If you're after a 1TB unit, this Seagate Expansion 1TB Desktop Hard Drive for $69 at JB Hi-Fi is one of the better deals we've spotted. Keep in mind it's AC powered and USB 2.0.
Again, you'll pay a premium for USB 3.0 when you're shopping for a 1TB drive. At JB Hi-Fi, the cheapest we could find was this 1TB Western Digital My Book Essential with USB 3.0 for $99.
