Tech Deals: Get a Nintendo 3DS from Dick Smith for $199

The price of the Nintendo 3DS has been slashed yet again, with Dick Smith offloading stock for $199.

The Nintendo 3DS is now cheaper than ever, with Dick Smith offering the console for $199 - that's $150 less than the original recommended retail price. As an added bonus, those who order online will also receive free shipping.

Nintendo 3DS Australian launch: first impressions

The Nintendo 3DS is the latest portable gaming console in the popular DS series. Unlike previous models, it allows players to play games and watch videos in 3D - without the need to wear glasses. Other impovements include HD resolution, a larger 3.5in LCD screen, motion sensing controls similar to the iPhone and an inbuilt 3D camera.

The Nintendo 3DS launched in Australia on 31st March with a price tag of $349.95. In late July, Nintendo knocked $100 off the official RRP, to the anger of many early adopters (in way of appeasement, 10 free Gameboy/NES games were offered to customers who had paid full price).
This latest price cut appears to be an initiative from Dick Smith, which would seem to suggest that the console isn't selling as well as it could be.
