First up this week, given that everyone is well over Star Wars day and all, is the new Conan the Barbarian trailer. Opinion around the Atomic corner is, somewhat surprisingly, divided on this one. Most of us think it’s going to be terrible, but we do have one holdout hoping for lots of fighting and action and pretty boys. We wish her luck…
Also causing some concern around the place is Green Lantern. From the cheap seats (the only ones we can afford), it looks like it might be a big of fluffy comicky fun – but we suspect anyone hoping for more than that may be disappointed. The latest trailer can be found here.
And while we’re on the trailer kick, this week saw the release of three new character trailers for X-Men: First Class, which is still looking pretty damn solid…
Fans of the Red Faction franchise might be interested to know that US cable channel syfy (we feel so dirty just typing that…) will soon be screening Red Faction: Origins, a movie set between Red Faction: Geurilla and the upcoming Armageddon. Check out the trailer and decide for yourself if this particular video game crossover will be worth your time.
The Tomb Raider reboot now was writers, and fans of the first Iron Man movie should probably start getting excited. Fans of Olivia Wilde, on the other hand, apparently should not. We here think she’s rather attractive, but will probably survive not seeing her in his particular project.
The new Spiderman movie seems to be picking up speed, and this week saw the release of a bunch of new photos from the set. We genuinely wish this movie well – and not just because we’re really very fond of Andrew Garfield (but mostly).
Finally, a couple of quick doses of silliness. Well, we hope this is silliness, although... you never really know. What you do know, though, that if it’s not silliness, it’s freaky and kind of creepy. Perfect for a Friday afternoon, really.
And we’ll leave you with a quick tip of the hat to the week that was: the week of May the Fourth. Check out Darth Vader as you’ve never seen him before…
