Samsung will demo a 7-megapixel cameraphone and a smartphone with a 3MB hard drive for playing music at this week's Cebit technology trade show in Germany.

The 3GB hard drive SGH-i300 phone is a follow-on to a phone the company first showed last year with a 1.5GB hard drive.

Besides storing up to 1000 music files, the company said that the phone can function as a removable hard drive enabling mobile workers and students to transfer files to and from their desktop computers.

The SGH-i300 also has a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera, the company said. It works on GSM mobile systems.

Unveiled in Korea earlier this week, the SCH-V770 phone looks more like a camera than a phone and has advanced features including a 3X optical and 5x digital zoom lens, flash, auto and manual focus was well as shutter speed up to one-two thousandths of a second.

The phone operates with CDMA standard, but not with the GSM standard, according to media reports.

A QVGA LCD screen with 320 by 240 pixel resolution is located on a 2-inch display on the rear of the phone. Images can also be displayed on a TV through a TV output.

The SCH-V770 also has an MP3 player and business card reader. Samsung officials said the device will go on sale later in the first half of 2005, although prices haven't been established.

The company provided no information, however, about pricing or availability of the SGH-i300.
