Telstra may have improved their broadband plans, though they are still behind the rest of the industry when it comes to value.
For instance; entry level users will now get 10 times the data on the entry level Telstra plan: 2GB for $29.95 on a 24 month contract. that's a big improvement over the previous 200MB, though hardly inspiring considering that roughly the same amount of money will get you 4GB (2GB peak/2GB off peak) at iiNet.
Telstra will offer the usual discounts if you bundle your home phone, Internet and Foxtel services.
Not surprisingly, Telstra has caught onto the need for bigger download caps (especially when it comes to video on demand services).
They've introduced two high-usage plans of 100GB (from $109.95 bundled) and 200GB (from $149 bundled). And the BigPond Elite Liberty plans now include 12GB for $59.95 (24 month plan) on ADSL2+.
For Telstra customers it's sure to be a welcome addition, but it's unlikely to persuade others on more competitive deals to switch over anytime soon.
The plans will launch on December 1st. For more details, visit Telstra.
