Nokia has outed the 6700 slide and 7230, two colourful sliders aimed at social networkers on a budget

Nokia has added two new phones to its portfolio this morning in the shape of the Nokia 6700 slide and the Nokia 7230, two colourful sliders aimed at those on a budget.

Making a rather unexpected entrance to the market, the two phones are both set to hit shelves after the Christmas rush, in the first quarter of 2010.

First out of the pack is the Nokia 6700 slide with no less than six vibrant colours to choose from including pink, red, lime and purple.

Packing a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and easy web uploads, a 2.2-inch screen, 3G, FM radio and up to 29 hours of audio playback, the 6700 slide is the higher specced of the two handsets. It'll also come running Symbian S60 so you'll be able to download apps from the Ovi Store, and all tucked up nicely in an aluminium shell.

The curvy 7230 on the other hand will run S40, come with a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch screen, FM radio and also pack 3G connectivity for speedy sharing of your snaps on Ovi, Flickr and Facebook.

You'll get a 2GB card in the box for storing all your content, and get a standby time of up to a whopping 14 days.

The Nokia 6700 slide and 7230 will hit shelves at around £100 and £165 respectively – check out the promo video for the colourful duo on the blog and let us know what you think below.
