Britain gets Windows 7 first

World leader thanks to postal strike.

British punters are apparently the first in the world to receive their copies of Windows 7.

It is rare that the UK gets anything first, other than swine flu and foot and mouth diseases, so people really are putting out the bunting.

It seems the reason for the early release is because of the quaint tendency of British workers to go out on strike.

While most people thought that Margaret Thatcher had solved this problem years ago by shooting strikers and banning trade unions, apparently the British postal workers have not got the memo.

With a postal strike looming the Vole apparently has decided to allow retailers to release its latest operating system early in the UK.

This is probably not a good idea really because this means the first reviewers will be Brits and we tend to think everything is a bit crap. If the Vole had released Windows 7 first in San Francisco it would doubtlessly be declared beautiful.

Unfortunately for the Vole the US postal workers in San Francisco are too relaxed to strike.
