New Apple Mac Mini gets more memory, more storage and faster processor

Apple has outed a "mightier" Mac Mini, boasting the same compact shell but with boosted memory, bigger hard drives and a speedier processor

Following on from its MacBook and iMac announcements, Apple has also outed the "mightier" Mac Mini we'd been expecting, with more memory, a bigger hard drive and faster processor.

Similarly to the previous update earlier this year, the Mac Mini still looks the same compact package as ever, but replaces the rather feeble 1GB of memory available previously for a choice of either 2GB or 4GB.

The processor has also been boosted with the choice of either a 2.26GHz or 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo chip, and you now have the option of 320GB or 500GB hard drives alongside the standard 160GB one.

You'll be able to pick up the lesser specced Mini complete with 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive and the 2.2GHz processor from $849, while the 4GB RAM, 320GB and 2.53GHZ chipped option comes in at $1099.

All version will come running the NVidia GeForce 9400. Check out our review of the last Mini to see what we thought.
