It may have only been around for just over a year, but Google has just released Chrome 3 – with Chrome 4 already in development
So it might only be a year old, but Google has just outed Google Chrome 3 as a full stable release.

We first got our mitts on a stable Chrome 2 in May, but Chrome 3 has come packing some worthy improvements, including a more customisable tab page and a better omnibox, adding contextual icons so you can see what your autocomplete results are.

It's also much faster than any previous stable releases on both V8 and SunSpider benchmarks, while Google is saying it boasts a 150% increase in Javascript performance since Chrome's first beta.

Finally, Chrome 3 will support HTML5, bringing things such as video and audio to your browser without the need for plug-ins like Flash, and will come with a whole host of new themes as well.

Of course, Chrome 4 is already being tested on the dev channel, and if you've been playing around there or with any betas, this stable release may not seem all that exciting to you.

Either way, it's available now as a free download for Windows users – if you're a Chrome 3 user, let us know what you think to the changes below.

The ongoing problem I have always had with Google Chrome is that when you print a page the text is always too small. It's a problem that it appears they can't fix

SteveB, it's not just Chrome that prints too small, my 48 year old eyes get pissed at IE sometimes, even when I zoom up on screen.
As for Chrome's frequent updates, it's a new product of course it will develop rapidly. The real issue is why has GMail development stalled. I haven't noticed a single change apart from eventually supporting IMAP, since I was first invited to join in 2005. My space quota doesn't seem to be growing any more either.
P.S. Yes, I mostly use an email client (Thunderbird U3), but I also do the webmail thing at least monthly for various reasons.
