Thanks to finger-friendly Windows 7, Sony will be offering touchscreen laptops overseas from October this year
October is shaping up to be an explosive month for gadget fans – not only will we get Windows 7, Sony will delivering touchscreen Vaios overseas to use with Microsoft’s new OS.
The revelation came in a interview with Laptop magazine, in which Mike Abary, from Sony’s IT division, said ‘we will introduce touch into some of our Vaio products at the launch of Windows 7’, which means by the 22nd October in the UK.
If that’s not enough, Vaio owners can also apparently expect integration with the PlayStation Network to bring movies and TV shows directly to Vaio laptops and netbooks, although no time-frame was suggested for this.
Fans of Sony’s Reader will be pleased to hear that Sony is also looking to bring that ‘experience’, by which we assume it means e-ink and maybe over-the-air books, to its Vaio range.
It’s all exciting stuff, unless you’ve just laid down four figures on a shiny Sony laptop recently. Stay tuned for more updates as we get them, and don’t forget to check out our first impressions of Sony’s Mini Vaio W series.
