Apple shows Palm who's boss with iTunes update

Apple is set to update iTunes to version 8.2.1, which is thought will stop the Palm Pre from being able to sync up to the software

Palm may have thought it could be clever and get the Pre to play nicely with Apple's iTunes – but here's something to remember. Apple doesn't play nice.

The company released a statement last month saying that "third parties" would not be able to sync with its software, but just to make sure, it's releasing iTunes update 8.2.1 to well and truly crush the Pre's syncing dreams.

Of course, Pre users just need to not upgrade and they should be ok – and will at least bide some time while Palm finds a work around. We can't imagine they'll bow out of this without a bit of a fight.

We'll keep you updated, but in the meantime be sure to check out our Pre hands on video and full review.
