Sci-Fi Worlds: the lost universe of Gilliam's Zero Theorem

We wonder where Terry Gilliam would have taken his vision of IT hell in his now-abandoned creation, Zero Theorem.

Among movie stereotypes, the fate of the lone IT cubicle worker in big budget Hollywood films has been somewhat mixed.

One movie that promised an intriguing sci-fi vision of the misunderstood computer genius is Zero Theorem, which was to be directed by Terry Gilliam.

Fuelling speculation about what might have been is this synopsis, which describes a typically Gilliam-esque vision of corporate big-brother, cubicle workers, virtual reality and the humanity of man versus technology. This interview indicates the film is no longer on the drawing board.

In addition to 12 Monkeys and Brazil, among others Gilliam also directed the upcoming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
