Nope, not the N97, but a full–on capacitive touchscreen to smash the iPhone and Palm Pre
Nokia's been proudly blowing its own trumpet about how many 5800 Tube's it's shifted in the past year. But it seems the Finnish phone fanciers aren't through with their touchy–feely plans, plotting a "high–end handset" with a capacitive touchscreen for late 2009.

The news has been dug up by Taiwanese gadget fanatics DigiTimes, who report Wintek has secured orders for capacitive touch panels for a spanking new blower from Nokia.

That kind of screen would point to a mobile to go right up against the iPhone and Palm Pre, lacking the stylus of the 5800 and the QWERTY 'board of the June–bound N97.

While the N97 will doubtless give Apple and Palm plenty to think about, the clamour for a high–end, full–on touchscreen Nokia is still palpable. What do you think? Tell us in the comments section now.
