In a story sure to scare the pants off the robot-loving Japanese, a Swedish factory robot used for lifting heavy rocks, suddenly attacked one of the factory workers without warning, clamping its robotic arms onto the worker's head.
The factory, located in Balsta, Sweden was fined 25000 Kroner (about AU$4300) for the supposed 'malfunction'. Swedish newspaper 'The Local' reports that the event, which occurred in 2007, happened during a period of regular maintenance, while the worker was trying to fix a defective robot.
In a scene that sounds like it was pulled straight out of a Terminator film, the factory worker (whom we're suspecting wasn't called John) described cutting the power supply and approaching the robot, when it suddenly burst to life and clawed the workers head with its autobot-style arms. The worker managed to fight the machine off, but not before he suffered a number of bruises and broken ribs, according to The Local report.
In other news, the factory worker has told the factory that the robot needs to be destroyed to ensure the survival of the human race.
