New iPhone to pack front-facing camera?

by Stuff.tv  on Apr 17, 2009
A patent for a new iPhone interface uncovers what appears to be a dedicated video-calling cam
Another day, another iPhone rumour. This time it's courtesy of a super complex patent doing the rounds that appears to show a front-facing camera, presumably for video calling.

This isn't surprising considering one of the main bug bears of the current iPhone is the lack of video capability, and a feature that has been banded around the rumour mill since the iPhone 3.0 update announcement.

However, according to the folk at MacRumours, the patent is actually for a movement-aware interface. The idea is that your iPhone will be able detect if you're jogging, or on a particularly violent bus ride, and alter the look of the menu to make it easier for you to view.

We'll be sure to keep you updated with any more rumours from Apple's camp, but until then, get yourself up to date with the talk of better Wi-Fi and an FM transmitter for the phone.
