Microsoft prepares Office in 32-bit and 64-bit flavours

"Looks like the Office 2010 Beta will be available for people to play with by the end of the year. No doubt in 32 and 64 bit."

It seems that the dark satanic rumour mill spun out a truth when it suggested that Microsoft was going to release its Office 2010 in 32 and 64 bit versions.

Previous versions of Office have only shipped in 32-bit or 16-bit flavours. Now  a Micirosoft spokesperson has told Ars Technica that Office 2010 will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

No longer will Windows 64 bit have to pretend that it is running in a 32-bit environment in order to run Office 2010.

It is hoping that the new version of Office will spur the move to 64 bit systems.

About god-damned time 64bit gets better support. Maybe add in a version of windows that is true 64bit without the need for emulation...
