Acer outs 11.6-inch Aspire One and all-in-one desktop

by Stuff.tv  on Apr 9, 2009
Acer launches a larger-screened version of its popular Aspire One netbook, alongside a whole suite of other new products

Snapping hotly at the heels of the new Samsung NC20, Acer has outted its 11.6-inch Aspire One netbook in New York, throwing a new Aspire all-in-one and the AspireRevo nettop in for good measure as well.

The new netbook will come loaded with 160GB HDD, Intel Atom processor, and a backlit WXGA resolution screen, with the integrated Wi-Fi being backed up by both Bluetooth and 3G support. And while the screen size has been increased, Acer has managed to squeeze a few more millimetres out of the shell to make the newbie to the One family just one-inch thick.

If laptop wannabes aren’t quite your thing, the AspireRevo nettop may be a better option. The small form factor PC boasts the 1.6GHz Atom 230 CPU, NVIDIA ION graphics processor, HDMI output, and even claims to set up as a casual gaming console as well – complete with a Wii-esque controller.

Depending on what you’ll be using your little nettop for, you can squeeze in a hard drive of up to 250GB and memory of up to 4GB.

Finally, the rather sexy looking Aspire Z5600 all-in-one (pictured) is also gearing up for a yet-to-be-announced release date. With a 24-inch screen, full HD touch screen, Blu-ray player and up to 2TB of storage, Acer is certainly trying to give the likes of Apple’s new iMac and Dell’s XPS One 24 a run for their money.

While we wait for more news on pricing and availability, be sure to check out our Aspire One video review and keep it locked on Stuff.tv for more info when we get it.
