BlackBerry App World now live

by Stuff.tv  on Apr 2, 2009
Fans of BlackBerry rejoice – RIM has finally announced that its very own app store – BlackBerry App World – has launched today.
Taking on Apple and Android, the new service will provide a one-stop shop for all BlackBerry fans to download their favourite applications straight to their phones. The service will work on any of the newer BlackBerrys, including the touchscreen BlackBerry Storm.

UK punters are promised 500-600 apps on launch, rising to around 1,000 by the end of the week and expected to "grow significantly" thereafter.

There's the usual free suspects, including FaceBook and Twitter apps, as well as paid-for services. To buy apps, you'll need a PayPal account.
