Wolfenstein sequel images released

by Daniel Long  on Mar 31, 2009
Images from the sequel to 2001's Castle Wolfenstein have surfaced and it looks as though upgradeable weapons and more Nazis are on the menu.

According to Kotaku, the new, as yet untitled sequel takes place directly after the events of Castle Wolfenstein. The action centres around one B.J. Blazkowicz, who after coming across a mysterious amulet, is drawn into to a mysterious town in Germany. There he stumbles across a top secret energy experience and the existence of the Veil is given credence.

Kotaku writes that the still in-development game features a number of groups that the player will interact with, including a civilian resistance, a group of mystic-researching scholars and a black market (i.e. where the good weapons are).

As usual, the Wolfenstien game will deal heavily with monster-like Nazi soldiers, and lots of tramping through spooky, abandoned buildings. And for old -school Wolfenstien players, all weapons are apparently upgradable too.

The game has no expected release date of yet, but you can bet it's likely later this year or early 2010.
