Intel's Core i7, now powered by scooters

Not content with pitching Core i7's power to PC enthusiasts, Intel is taking the message to the general public. On scooters.

In case you missed it, Core i7 is about speed. We're not sure how cute scooters convey that message, but anyway, that's the way Intel has started pushing their silicon on the streets - via speed related posters being towed behind scooters in the Sydney and Melbourne CBDs in March.

The scooter-powered portable art gallery buzzed up to PC Authority's offices today, with more than a dozen Vespa scooters carrying a series of speed-related portable photographic billboards.

The campaign indicates Intel's intention to ramp up Core i7 CPU marketing to the general public. The new CPUs have already started to appear in desktops and are due to pop up in notebooks by the second half of this year.

The Intel-sponsored photography competition, 'Built for Speed', is dedicated to the Core i7 speed theme, which is rather fitting - our own Core i7 benchmarks indicate that the new chips are extremely quick.

If you're interested in some clever speed-related art, get on your scooter and check out the official Intel speed gallery here. The current photography exhibition will zip around the streets of Sydney and Melbourne's CBD area until March 13th. Click here for map and event locations.
