Two new version of Apple's cheapest desktop finally up for grabs after months of rumours
While the Mac Pro is purely for full–on, loaded creative types, Apple isn't leaving those of us with a savings account smaller than that of a redundant city banker. The new Mac Mini has been given an unsurprising overhaul, with more grunt under its metal hood.
Starting at $1,049, the low–end model comes with 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, super–drive and the same NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics you'll find in last year's MacBooks.
The pricier $1,399 model packs in 2GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD and the same super drive and graphics as its stripped down sibling. Both machine have 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Round the back you'll find 5 USB ports as promised, Ethernet, displayport and firewire with Bluetooth bundled too. Each model comes with OSX Leopard and iLife on board.
Our thoughts? Great, but still a bit on the pricey side for those looking to make the jump to Mac.
