Nokia's E71, which is one of the best Blackberry alternatives money can buy, has been on our A-List for a while now. Unfortunately, Nokia tells us it's not available on Telstra (though there are E71-2 and E71-3 variants in existence that are 850 HSDPA compatible, but aren't carried by Telstra, and some people claim to have found unlocked E71s available through eBay).
We're waiting for confirmation from Nokia, but the specs say that Nokia's two new additions to their brilliant E-Series smartphones - the E55 and 75 - are also compatible with 850 networks. Fingers crossed then.
The E75 ships in March while the E55 is sometime in the first half of 2009. No word on pricing yet.
