iPhone 3G users are free to use Internode's hotspots, but there's a twist.
The Internode announcement is not quite as groundbreaking news at it might seem -- Internode's fees and pricing page for its wireless broadband services notes that "The service is currently available free of charge until full commercial launch." And that's for all users, at least for the time being.
Where Internode have tweaked matters -- apparently due to Internode MD Simon Hackett's fondness for the shiny brick -- is that iPhone 3G users don't need to undergo a web-based login (everyone else does) and can simply set the Internode SSID in a compatible hotspot and get to surfing.
The next time they're in range of a hotspot, the phone should log in automatically, according to Internode representatives.
Internode operates over 100 hotspots "Nationwide", although given the ISPs South Australian base, it's perhaps not surprising that a large proportion of them operate within South Australia (and specifically within Adelaide), with only a small presence on the Eastern Seaboard.
