The new HP Pavilion HDMI-enabled dv notebooks are sexily-chromed, but the other good news is what's not inside the box. Foam that is.
It's good to see companies doing something about the ludicrous amounts of packaging used to show off tech gear.
We were mightily impressed with Lexmark's efforts,who have managed to
turn used ink cartridges into park benches
.
Now HP has grabbed our attention with their new dv entertainment notebooks, which have no foam packaging. Like many tech companies, HP ditched the little white blocks in favour of egg cartons.
All-up we count 3 pieces of plastic, and four pieces of cardboard (including the box) - not too shabby, though the ever-present plastic bags makes us think this isn't as enviro-friendly as it could be. What about getting rid of the plastic too, HP?
