AMD has trimmed the bulk sale price of no less than ten of its processors across the Phenom and Athlon ranges.
Intel has also just updated it processor price list, highlighting the growing focus from many on value for money rather than just pure speed.
The most noticeable drop is at the top end with the Phenom X4 9950 BE 140W dropping from U$235 down to US$186, a hefty 20.85 per cent cut.
The biggest percentage cut is the Phenom X4 9750, falling just shy of 21 per cent from US$215 to US$170.
These new numbers mean that the triple core Phenom X3 8650 is now slightly cheaper than some of Intel's dual core CPUs, which could entice some people to AMD's offering.
Of course it's worth bearing in mind that you'll only get these prices if you're buying your processors in trays of 1,000. You and I are going to be paying a little more for them as each link in the chain adds on its slice.
