Nvidia has said it will allow Intel's X58 chipset to natively support SLI graphics.
Previously, graphics nutters have had to use an Nvidia chipset to run multiple graphics cards. Now the outfit has decided to permit SLI on upcoming Intel X58 boards.

AMD can already run its multi-card Crossfire technology on its competitor's boards. Now for the first time both configurations could be run on the same board, making comparisons easier – assuming you can spare an arm and a leg for all those planet-destroying cards.

Nvidia saved the announcement until late in the day at its Nvision knees-up in California this week.

As I recall, Skulltrail boards already allow choice Crossfire & SLI. The details of how seem irrelevant to this reporting of old news.

But Skulltrail is merely a mutated server board. :P

Bring on the new chipset!
