Too little, too late.
Comment made about the PC Authority article: Jerry Seinfeld to pitch Vista? Some bright spark in Microsoft's marketing department has apparently decided that the what will turn around flagging Vista sales is for it to be pitched by Jerry Seinfeld.

It's good to see old Gerry out there making a quid. Still, you've got to wonder why it took $10,000,000 to get him to stand up for vista. You'd almost think his heart wasn't in it:lol: |

Seinfeld series are "all about nothing". What about Vista? So far, there's not much. |

It will be a big ask. Ever since I invited Vista into my life, I've had nothing but trouble. Jerry, don't do it!! |

Jerry will simply give a talk about Vista, and end it with "And that's why Vista is the greatest OS ever."
The entire audience will then roll about on the floor laughing uncontrollably.
Great idea MS, getting a comedian to convince people to use Vista. ROTFL... |

I think it's a smart idea, better than the Mac VS PC ads by Apple. |

Vista has two rivals -- Mac and XP. Can they afford to tackle only one?
The project smacks of desperation.
I think that one of the big problems that Macs have -- and I think they are great technically -- is that they are good. So users assume that they will work anywhere without any glitches. And, of course glitches occur. But, of that crowd of 100 sympathetic onlookers they might find three Mac users, and how many will know how to sort out that glitch? The 80-odd PC users would surely include someone who understood networks and registry hacks and...
If I were Microsoft, I would forget about defending Vista, and defend Windows against Macs. |

Well, that's what they're doing.
They can't attack Macs, otherwise Apple wins. The whole tactic of Apple is to provoke their competitors, then point out any harse response. Microsoft have disfused this marketing bomb and instead focused on their own issues. |
