Comment made about the PC Authority article: Fake wood made from recycled ink cartridges? That park bench you're sitting on? It could be made from ink cartridges. A new patent for "eWood" aims to build outdoor furniture with all your printer junk.

Fantastic Idea!!! Now if council's would just come and collect ewaste (as opposed to their erratic 3-6 monthly drop off's) we could finally get somewhere with the amount ewaste that is out there and give the genius at close the loop some more raw material to work with and maybe someone else the inspiration to come up with something just as ingenious. |

Yeah true, e-waste is a real problem and it's sad to see the local channel, partners and even the big boys (HP, IBM etc) have no real plan in place for it. The governemnt is clueless as well...! |

Anyone here remember old tv's being made into fish tanks? Now that was a great although ugly way to reuse old technology.

How about when the eWood product is dumped, will the product be recyclable? or will the product make more damage to the environment than normal wood? How about on fire? Will they produce toxic gas? |

i dont see why it wouldnt be recyclable but...*shrugs* who knows. i think its more of an outdoor ornament then an indoors one..due to the durability it supposedly holds. but yea if someone has it indoors and the house burns and it releases some sort of toxic gas, you could probably get high on until you die, then that could be a problem yes. |

It looks more like fake wood in terms of making outdoor chairs or tables, rather than firewood. |
