iiNet customers get Gruen Transfer overload

The ISP adds freebie ABC video downloads to its list of goodies for broadband customers. Good news if you're a fan of the ratings winner, hosted by Wil Anderson.
Users of the ABC's new iView program, which lets Internet users watch ABC TV shows on their computer, will be able to watch without the shows adding to their iiNet quotas.

The move could save customers hundreds of MB per episode. One episode of Doctor Who would use around 200MB of data, says iiNet chief technology officer Greg Bader.

iiNet already offers quota-free iTunes downloads.

Interestingly, the ABC says it will be pushing the idea to other ISPs, with discussions scheduled in "coming weeks".

The news will come as good news to fans of the ABC's Gruen Transfer, hosted by Wil Anderson. The show has been a ratings win for the ABC, with the show's launch eclipsing Kath & Kim's ratings debut.
