The iPhone OS 2.0 software, which was designed by the finest brains that Apple could buy, has been unlocked and jailbroken within a couple of hours of it hitting the streets.

The iPhone Dev Team said that it took them a couple of month's to get Apple's first release of the OS cracked, but this one was a doddle to do.

To be fair to Apple's collective brain cells, the Dev Team did have a bit of a head start. They have been working on trying to crack the beta of the software and had it unlocked before Apple released it to the great unwashed.

According to Gizmodo, the Dev Team will release their Pwnage tool for everyone to unlock and jailbreak their handsets soon.

While this will be less important as it was when Apple released the first iPhone, as most countries have the iPhone these days, it could still be used to run all that software the Steve Jobs does not want you to have. It will also be handy for those who want to use pay as you go cards when travelling rather than mortgage their house to pay roaming fees.
