We're giving away a Lenovo Thinkpad X300 notebook and it's ridiculously easy to win.
We're looking for the most interesting, insightful, helpful posts or user reviews across the site.

We have 3 Lenovo notebooks in total to giveaway - and they're all cutting edge machines. The best prize is a Lenovo X300 worth $3,800 - this is an incredibly light and powerful ultraportable, combining a built-in DVD writer, 13.3inch screen, fast solid state storage, internal 3G modem, and weighing a mere 1.45Kg.

In addition we also have 2 Lenovo T61 ultraportables each worth $2,000 to giveaway - these highly rated machines scored 5/6 in our lab tests, and combine toughness, security and usability.

And, because we're feeling generous, the top 5 comments or user reviews posted each week will be rewarded with a Belkin Rockstar. The Rockstar lets you share your iPod with friends, connecting up to five headphones, or adding another iPod to mix songs and we have a total of 45 to give away.

Entry is only open to Australian & NZ residents. The winning posts will be the most helpful, insightful and entertaining, chosen from comments on news, reviews, blogs and features, posts in our forums, and user reviews. Remember, you need to register to win - go here to register to become part of the PC Authority community.

The prizes will be awarded in stages - the first promotional period runs between 9am, Tuesday 1st July to midnight, Sunday 13th July 2008. The best post during this period will win one of the Lenovo T61 notebooks.

Same here. I have a need for a few new items shortly and I would like a full review before setting out to find more info. I will keep a look out. I also may have mssed it with all the different things floating around. I had better do a search!

Laptops like this one are great, but I find they miss out on one feature.
That is the ability to be updated like clone type computers. Lenovo could look at being able to make a laptop that's upgradable to any later type of CPU, and accept any tpe of motherboard to whip the opposition into shape. In the meantime, Lenovo if I win this system, I will keep on dreaming till the day it happens. Of course with the ecology being affected, recycling this type of computer, would make it even more friendly. Computer technology is changing too fast so this would be a better way of doing things.Things are sweet with Lenovo.

It certainly looks good and slim, but is it up to the top of the present standard
Yes, of course I want it.
I always wonder why the memory bank is not simply built into the computer from the factorylike any other chip.
Then we would not have to search for the right expansion chips, Mine are not available anymore for a 3 year old machine

It's obvious that people are doing it. Too bad it's a game of skill. ;)

Actually the T61 is what my work uses for their work laptops. Im sad to say that I disagree with the PC Authority review, only because I am using a T60 which has miles better outside finish then the T61

It was probably a timeout error and he/she hit post three times thinking that the previous two didn't get through.

I am using the X300, it's magnificent. The reward is too tempting, I don't mind winning another one. Then I can start doing things like this, ask people to make comments on my things. En.... not a bad plan!

What an intriguing irony: Did I finally decide to start posting comments on PC Authority content because they offered a worthy prize, or because they finally printed some things that I thought required comments?

Yep, I'm commenting for the prize. How do they judge the 'best' comments? Analysing grammar structure, correct spelling, length of the prose, etc... Or do they want something concise that sounds witty?

They want someone who is part of the community, as far as I can tell. I started posting well before this competition.

I have been using a Lenovo R61 Laptop in my work as an IT educator. I have found this machine to be up to my expectations. If the X300 is made to the same standards as the R61 then it will be a most welcome addition to the educational toolset.

I've been looking to purchase a laptop for work / uni (I have carple tunnel syndrome in both wrists so writing at uni is not an option - PAIN) so I've spent the morning reading the A list, reviews and forums. All three have narrowed my choices down so thanks for the comprhensive reviews! My only hope of owning the stylish Levono at this stage is to win it =p~ scuse my drool. If I don't then I guess I'll probably buy the ACER travelmate (hard to find)or the DellXPS

Cheers for all the info!

I just purchased an Lenovo R61i – Intel 1.83Ghz Core2Duo ..... and was going to ask what do people think of it? lol what can I say its in my name or actually my pocket. Would still appreciate comments.

I'm a huge fan of the R61 series. They're well priced, come bundled with IBM software and are of exception build quality and durability. My ONLY gripe is that the pre-build of XP/VISTA has a tendency to be bogged down with unnecessary software from IBM --> e.g. mine doesn't have a webcam, but it came with the webcam software!

Lenovo - I am not that happy with the "lack" of intruction manuals they supply. I even called LENOVO and they don't even know their own products OMG!!!! I searched Lenovo website for my laptop that was usless too.
My Acer was better in that department.
