DivX playback seems to be the flavour of the month in LCD-land, with Teac's new The 19” Teac LCDV1955HD and the 22” LCDV2255HD TVs supporting the format.
Playing your favourite DivX movies from memory cards (SD, MMC and MS) is now even easier with these new Teac models. The 19” Teac LCDV1955HD and the 22” LCDV2255HD screens have flash memory support for viewing photos and movies, and are both all-in-one units with 1080i capable HD tuners, and integrated DVD players.
Both units use Teac’s MST-ACE chip, which is said to deliver brighter and more brilliant high def images, with greater contrast and detail.
One drawback we’ve noticed is the smaller size of these new models. The price for the 19inch LCDV1955HD runs at about $749, the 22” model at $849; which is a little steep considering the units are the size of an average computer monitor.
Smaller TV sizes are seen to be on the way out in many retail stores as the industry gears up for bigger and bolder television screen sizes.
Is there still a market for smaller, all-in one devices? Would you spend more than $800 on one? Let us know below.
