OSX gets updated
Users of fructose-based operating systems should grab an update to their 'core', as Apple has released OSX version 10.5.3, continuing its tradition of using more dots than is strictly necessary for a version number.
What's the fix? Well, there are rather a few. Time Machine gets some bugs squished, including problems backing up to Apple's dedicated Time Capsule device and backing up Macs on battery power. Mail gets a raft of fixes that mend stability problems in a few random circumstances. Parental Controls, Spotlight, Ichat, Ical, Automator and Airport also get a few lines in Apple's release notes.
The update swings in at a rather bloated 420MB. Worshippers at the shrine of El Jobso can grab it by clicking the rather obvious 'Software Update' menu on their Macs.
