We're in mod-heaven with Gigabyte's new extreme cooling system, which uses tower-like heat sink and pure copper to stop your rig melting.
Gigabyte said it will be showing off its new Intel P45 board, named the Gigabyte EP45 Extreme at Computex 2008 in Taipei .

The board boasts a new cooling system called the Hybrid Silent Pipe, which the company claims allows for cooling through “ventilation from nature”, effectively removing heat through a sort of tower-like heat sink. The cooling system is also made out of pure copper, to facilitate water cooling.

The Intel Core 2 Multi-Core is supported by the board as well as 45nm processors with FSB1600MHz and scalable performance with DDR2 1200 memory.

The company reckons that its 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 graphic interface plus PCI-E 2.0 x4 with Quad CrossFire makes for ultimate graphics performance, whilst the on board audio ALC889A codec features106 dB Signal to Noise ratio for your auditory pleasure.

The board’s 12 power phases with VRD 11.1 support embedded 2 power phases for NB chipsets and 2 power phases for memory, which purportedly boosts power efficiency.

Featuring two Physical BIOS ROMs (DualBIOS), is also supposed to provide double security for the system.

Gigabyte seems especially proud of its new ACPI LED, which lets users know the power status of their machine, even when the screen is turned off. It also shows the various system states of S0, S1, S3, S4/S5 with leds on the board.
