Samsung LCD TV teaches you to meditate and cook

Samsung's Series 7 LCD TV has USB 2.0 inputs, plays Mpeg4 movies (DivX- compatible), streams RSS feeds from the Internet and include built-in content libraries.
The 1080P Series 7 LCD boasts some attractive specs, including 100 MHz, over 1,000,000 contrast range and ‘filter bright’ technology for better viewing in different room environments where reflections from external lighting can be problem.

But the best part of the Series 7 we think is the part that makes it distinctly unique from its competitors: the inclusion of Mpeg4 playability. You can simply plug in your USB stick and using Samsung’s Wiselink-pro technology, prepare for DivX content awesomeness. While Samsung mentioned it’s not designed for pirated material, we all know what some people will have up their sleeves when they think of a DivX-ready television.

And whilst people who already own DivX-ready players won’t be doing any star-jumps for this product, you can bet it’s going to be popular with the download crowd who don’t want to burn their favourite flicks to disc anymore.

The Series 7 LCD panel also aims at the fashion-conscious, with its eye-catching crystal bezel design finish. A red hue has been embedded into the black piano panel, first used in German premium car manufacturing to give the LCD a transparent layer of resin.

Finally, a feature known as ‘content libraries’ will enable users to access pre-loaded content including as meditation manuals, cooking guides and basic games like Sudoku. Fortunately, the LCD uses flash memory (which Samsung are the market leaders in) which allows for upgradable firmware.

Speaking of the web, the Series 7 also works with RSS feeds, using an intergrated LAN port that aims to be the link between TV and PC viewing. That makes it one of the only TVs in the world to be able to display your sport scores or weather details over the top of your favourite television programme in real-time.

The Series 7 LCD TV will be available this year in September, so you’ll have to sit quietly and twiddle your thumbs till then.
