The big guns are targeting young IT professionals at the 2008 Young ICT Professionals Conference in Australia.
The two tech giants will go head to head at the event, both presenting keynoted addresses - Microsoft gazing into its "10 year Crystal Ball" and Google unveiling "The World According to Google".
It should be an interesting match-up, considering recent moves by both players - including Microsoft's bid for Yahoo, and Google's move to improve its online office suite Google Docs.
The event will be held from May 29 to 30 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, and is being promoted as a way for young people working in IT to make contacts and mix with potential employers.
Other topics will include IT security, wireless networks, visual effects in film, and preparing for your first promotion. PC Authority will also be presenting at the event, talking about the benefits of blogs and how the Web is blurring the lines between technology pros and journalists.
