Should you, or do you, care about your laptop's looks? We're in two minds after seeing today's new notebook lineup.
We've seen some bold notebook designs in our time, including ASUS' cow-hide inspired leather trim, and the Acer's Ferrari, and Sony's Vaio CR series, but HP's new designs stand out a mile.
The most striking is the new dv2800 artist edition, which incorporates temples, swords, a dragon and office towers. It was designed by a 20-year old from Portugal who won a global design competition.
The 14-inch machine packs nVidia GeForce 8400M GS graphics, Core 2 Duo (Penryn), and starts at $1,899. Not ridiculously expensive considering the premium design and Penryn platform.
HP also updated its 12.1inch tablet, introducing the TX2000 - which HP claims responds better to handwriting. The dv6700 is a new media centre with Blu-Ray starting at $1,799.
