First phone expected at Mobile World Congress.
Rumours are flying across the web that UK chip manufacturer Arm is about to show off the first phone to use Google's Android platform.

Neither company has confirmed the rumours, according to Reuters, but speculation is rife that Arm may already have a working handset.

Google has said publicly that it wants phones using the platform to be up and running by the end of the year.

T-Mobile and HTC have both committed to providing handsets that use the Android platform, but no release dates have been announced.

Arm provides the chip technology for most mobile phones on the market today, and has been working closely with Google on its plans for the new platform.
