Taking photos is only half the fun. Touching them up on your PC and printing them is the other half. PC Authority takes a look at some of the best photo-printers on the market.

There's been an explosion in recent years in the numbers of digital cameras sold and the sheer number of digital snaps filling up hard drives and burnt CDs. At the same time the cost of photo-printers has imploded, yet many people are still displaying their digital images on TVs or PCs or just merely archiving them for display, you know, one day.

Why not buy a photo-printer and get yourself some hardcopies of your best imagery? While the costs are low, and you can get photo-printers for well under the models we've reviewed here, we asked for vendors to submit their best photo-printers for under bust as close to $400 as possible.

This way we've ensured that the five units received would be capable of more than just paying lip-service to photo-printing as a whole: we wanted photo-printers that were primarily designed for printing photos.

Kodak and Epson supplied us with just that: tiny printers designed to print your 6x4 photos quickly and easily. The other three though are capable of blowing up and printing out A4 photos. It's really up to you to decide how you want to print your images.

While we've given these printers a thorough testing, we've also taken an in-depth look at the pros and cons of photo-printing at home. Is it really worth it?
