Reds (1981) Warren Beatty's Reds recreates the 1917 Russian Revolution through the eyes of American journalist and communist John Reed. Spanning an epic 194 minutes, the film nearly feels as long as the Soviet Union's 70-odd year reign. The way Warren Beatty managed to convince a US studio to finance a movie about communism at the height of the Cold War could probably be a movie in itself.
