Due to memory constraints, the Amiga conversion of Strider was forced to remove the arcade game's final boss battle. Unfortunately, the entire plot had been building up to this confrontation. In an attempt to explain the villain's non-appearance, the developers tacked on a new ending in which the hero discovers he has been taking part in a training simulation. In other words, it was all a dream.
