XaviXPorT (SSD Company Limited, 2004)
The XaviXPorT was a motion-based console that made its debut in 2004; a full two years before the Nintendo Wii revolutionised the industry. Intended primarily for sports fans, each game came with its own wireless motion-sensing peripheral (examples include a tennis racquet, baseball bat, boxing gloves, a fishing rod and a bowling ball). Much like the Wii, the system used image recognition and infrared sensors to detect the player's movements, which were then transferred onto the screen. In addition to sports games, the system also released a handful of fitness titles, complete with a Wii Fit-style floor-mat. The XaviXPorT limped on until around 2009, and today has been all but forgotten.
