The Arcadia 2001 was a portable 8-bit console that debuted in the early 1980s. It came with a pair of Intellivision-style controllers with a whopping 12 buttons apiece (we thought old consoles were supposed to be simple?)<br><br> Originally released by Emerson Radio Corp, the Arcadia 2001 was licensed to a host of different manufacturers around the world. Consequently, there are over <i>thirty</i> different consoles based on the Arcadia 2001 architecture, all with completely different names and conflicting software. In other words, a console collector could dedicate himself entirely to this system and still fill his entire house with hardware.
