Arcadia 2001 (Emerson Radio Corp, 1982) The Arcadia 2001 was a portable 8-bit console that debuted in the early 1980s. It came with a pair of Intellivision-style controllers with a whopping 12 buttons apiece (we thought old consoles were supposed to be simple?) Originally released by Emerson Radio Corp, the Arcadia 2001 was licensed to a host of different manufacturers around the world. Consequently, there are over thirty different consoles based on the Arcadia 2001 architecture, all with completely different names and conflicting software. In other words, a console collector could dedicate himself entirely to this system and still fill his entire house with hardware.
