Photos: See ASUS' stunning MacBook Air rival up close - the UX31 Ultrabook

What you're looking at is one of the very first Ultrabooks in the world. ASUS invited us to take a look at this machine at their Sydney office this week. Called the UX31, it has an aluminium chassis and a really minimalist look. It's 17mm thin, and runs Core i7. Comparisons with the MacBook Air are obvious. If you don't want a MacBook, and you've found other machines too ugly, this will be a really interesting laptop to look out for. [Words: William Maher]
